FASHIONISTAS TO FROCK UP TO HELP ADELAIDE’S HOMELESS

South Australians with an eye for fashion will adorn fascinators this Melbourne Cup Day to raise funds for The Hutt Street Centre.

A fashion parade featuring Australian designer Liza Emanuele’s latest collection will also up the stakes for the centre, which provides essential support to Adelaide’s homeless.

Former Adelaide Football Club ruckman Rhett Biglands, SAFM radio presenter Amber Petty and Lightning Player Sam Woosnam have designed hats, made by Marleston TAFE millinery students, that will be auctioned on the day.

Scott McBain will MC the event, which includes a three course ‘trilogy’ menu with accompanying drinks package, music by the Dukes of Jazz, prizes and a celebrity hat auction.

Sweeps, raffles, door prizes and other silent auction items will be up for grabs, with proceeds going to The Hutt Street Centre, including:

  • TRIP FOR 2 TO PORT LINCOLN – Rex airlines return flights, 2 nights accommodation at the award-winning Port Lincoln Hotel and tickets to swim with the tuna thanks to Adventure Bay Charters.

  • AUSTRALIAN BALLET SEASON TICKETS x 2  for the 2009 season

  • AUTOGRAPHED TOUR DOWN UNDER JERSEY – signed by 2008 winner, Germany’s Andre Griepel.

  • TICKETS TO THE CLIPSAL 500 – 2 x general admission tickets for the four day motor racing event in 2009.

Other local businesses supporting the event include Haighs, Beerenberg, Portabello and Bellini Rose.
